Scholarship for Ethiopians

02 July, 2012

Ethiopia has gradually expanding its higher education sector through increasing the number of federal universities in the country. The Haile Selassie University, today known as Addis Ababa University (AAU) was the first higher institution in Ethiopia. The government of Ethiopia also considers the significance of higher education in its strategy for social and economic development. The Ethiopian government found advanced education as a significant plank in its strategy for social and economic expansion. That’s why it opens the door for foreign students to enroll in the private colleges of Ethiopia. Jointly funded scholarships by the agreement of a joint Ethiopian Ministry of Education and University of Nottingham provide Higher Education development in Ethiopia. Various financial schemes like scholarships, awards and grants etc. are provided to native students as well as foreign students in order to expand the education system and to bring efficiency in it.
